As one of the largest electrical and electronic engineering schools in the UK, we are known for our theoretical and applied research. Since 2008 we have doubled research awards, seen a 40% increase in top-quality publications, and made 230 invention disclosures.
Our vision is to be world-leading in all our research, teaching, and knowledge-transfer activities. We maintain strength in our core disciplines through research groups, while promoting interdisciplinary research through cross-cutting research themes.
Working closely with users of our technology enables us to address the challenges faced by manufacturing, utility, health, and non-profit organisations, and government policy makers. As a result, our research base continues to grow, develop, and adapt to better serve our industry and wider society.
